Inclement Weather Make-Up Days.  School will be in session on Monday, April 5, and Wednesday, June 9.  If any additional make-up days are necessary, the school year will be extended in June.

Indian Rock Buddies

The fifth graders at Indian Rock Elementary paired up with a second grade buddy.  Together they read the book The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett.  The fifth graders then asked the second graders to provide ideas and details for new gingerbread stories.  Using the second graders’ story ideas, the fifth graders wrote new stories and revised and edited them with their second grade buddies.  The students had an educational and fun time using their writing skills to create stories. The culminating activity was making gingerbread houses together.
